ESPN’s College GameDay is in Kalamazoo, Mich., for the first time ever on Saturday. The show is visiting for the occasion of 10-0 Western Michigan’s game against Buffalo, which the No. 21 Broncos will almost certainly win, and to celebrate a so-far undefeated season that’s pushed the team into the national spotlight.
WMU had been ahead of Boise State in the Playoff committee’s rankings, which meant WMU was slated to represent the Group of 5 in the Cotton Bowl. Boise surprisingly pulled ahead by one spot this week, so it’s no longer obvious that WMU controls its own destiny. But it feels a bit farfetched that WMU could go 13-0 through the MAC’s championship game and not get into a New Year’s Six bowl. It wouldn’t be right, and now WMU’s job is to pressure the committee not to do it.
College GameDay is heading to Kalamazoo, Mich., for its next destination. The Western Michigan Broncos are one of two undefeated teams left in college football and it’s time for them to show the country just what they’re made of. Will they improve to 11-0 on the season. Zach Terrell might be one of the most underrated quarterbacks on the most underrated team in the country. He has been nearly flawless this season, passing for 2,445 yards with 23 touchdowns to only one interception. He has also completed 70 percent of his throws.
Corey Davis is an NFL talent at wide receiver with over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns on 62 catches this season while the Broncos’ run game is elite as well. Jarvion Franklin has over 1,100 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns this season. Buffalo is the next victim on Western Michigan’s schedule as it seems like the Bulls stand no chance of upsetting the undefeated Broncos. They are just 2-8 overall and have just one win in conference play against Akron.
